The Realy Barn
The Realy Barn: A Testament to 19th-Century Agricultural Heritage
The Realy Barn, an 1840s structure, was relocated to the Waterloo Farm Museum in 1976 from a nearby farm approximately a mile away. This barn closely resembles those that existed on the Realy family's farm during their residence. Its name derives from the original "Realy" sign that now hangs above its door. This sign was initially displayed on barns situated across the road, east of the farmhouse, adjacent to the Cider Mill. Those original barns, constructed in the 1880s, were integral to the farm's operations during that period.
Visitors to the Waterloo Farm Museum can explore the Realy Barn to gain insights into the agricultural practices and architectural styles of the 19th century, reflecting the rich farming heritage of the region.
